Who we are

Vayda is published by Raul Rath. This policy covers the Vayda app and website. For privacy questions, requests or concerns, contact support@vayda.app.

Vayda does not require an account. Your saved profile belongs on your device; online calculations and AI conversation use only the information needed for those features, as explained below. We do not sell personal information or use your chart or conversations for advertising.

What stays on your device

Vayda saves your name, birth details, selected goals, practice completion dates, saved readings and reading progress, personal context, chat-memory preference, reminder settings, introductory-period dates, completed setup and AI-sharing choice on the device where you enter them. These records personalise your experience and preserve your choices between visits.

Small mobile records use the operating system’s secure storage. Calculated birth and divisional charts, together with up to seven dated forecasts, are saved separately in the app’s private files for offline use. The web app uses browser local storage. Vayda does not provide cloud account storage or sync these records between devices; operating-system or browser backup features are governed by your settings and their providers.

Birthplace search uses a catalogue bundled with the app. The place names you type are searched on your device. Vayda does not request your current GPS location.

Calculating your chart and forecast

When you request a new calculation, the calculation service receives your birth date, local birth time and its certainty, birthplace coordinates, birth time zone and forecast time zone. These inputs produce your charts, planetary periods and transits. Your saved name, birthplace label, goals and practice history are not included in calculation requests.

The calculation service processes these requests without saving their birth-profile content. Cached astronomy data is public reference data, not a collection of user profiles. Your calculated result returns to the app, where a local copy can be retained until it is replaced or deleted.

When you use Ask Vayda

Ask Vayda uses OpenAI to generate replies. When you choose Send, your question, recent conversation, saved personal context and relevant calculated chart information are sent through Vayda’s service to OpenAI. Chart information can include planetary placements, divisional charts, dashas and transits relevant to the question.

Your birth details first go to the calculation service to prepare those chart facts. OpenAI receives calculated facts rather than your saved name, birthplace label or raw birth date and birth time. This is data minimisation, not a promise of anonymity: calculated chart information can be personal information, and anything you type into a message or context entry is sent as written.

Goals and practice history are not automatically attached to AI requests. Saved context is attached, up to the app’s current limit of 1,600 characters. You can review, edit or remove context before sending, and turn off AI sharing in Profile. No AI request is made simply because you open a chart or edit a context entry.

Vayda disables stored completions in its OpenAI requests. This does not mean zero retention. OpenAI’s standard API abuse-monitoring records may include prompts and replies for up to 30 days, with longer retention in circumstances described in its policy, including legal and safety needs. OpenAI states that API content is not used to train its models by default. Clearing local data or turning off sharing does not recall requests that OpenAI has already received.

A different AI provider will not be substituted silently. If the configured provider changes, Vayda requires you to review sharing before sending to it.

OpenAI API data practices ↗

Your context and optional chat memory

Your context is a set of notes that you can manage in Profile. Entry priorities help select readings and practices locally. They do not alter astronomical positions or the forecast bars. Context text is included when you send an AI question, so add only information you want used that way.

Optional chat memory is off by default. If you turn it on, Vayda can copy a limited set of short statements you make about work, study or projects into visible context entries and tells you when it does. It does not save an AI interpretation as a fact about you or archive your entire conversation. You can edit or delete each saved entry. Turning chat memory off stops new entries; it does not remove earlier ones.

Your conversation itself remains in the app’s memory until you clear it, change the birth profile or end the app session. Closing the chat panel alone does not necessarily end that session. Avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information about yourself or other people in chat, context or support messages.

Optional reminders

If you enable daily reminders, Vayda asks for notification permission and saves your chosen time locally. Your device schedules the reminders; Vayda does not send a push token or reminder preference to a remote notification or advertising service. You can change the time or turn reminders off in Profile or your device settings. Notification previews may be visible on a locked screen.

Website visits and service security

The Vayda website does not include account registration, marketing forms, advertising trackers or analytics scripts in its own code. Fonts are served with the website. Opening an email link uses your chosen email service; following an external source takes you to a site with its own privacy practices.

Delivering a website or API request requires technical connection information, such as an IP address, requested address, browser information and request time. Hosting providers may process access and security records to deliver and protect the service under their own retention practices. These records are separate from your locally saved app profile.

Vayda’s calculation service uses short-lived connection-IP request counters to limit abuse. It records restricted technical error codes rather than the text of questions, replies or birth profiles. In a private device-access installation, a separate protected record may hold a device identifier, a hashed access key, issue and expiry dates, revocation status and request timestamps for access control and usage limits. It does not hold the conversation or chart content.

We use device and service safeguards to reduce unauthorised access. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Support and other disclosures

When you email support, we and the provider of our support mailbox receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use that information to respond, investigate the issue and manage the request. Please do not send passwords, API keys, payment-card numbers or unnecessary birth details. Screenshots can be cropped or redacted.

Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with an applicable legal obligation, protect the service or address a security incident. We do not use support conversations as a marketing mailing list.

Where processing happens

Your saved app records remain on the device where you entered them, subject to your device and backup settings. Online calculation, website hosting, support email and AI services can involve processing outside your country. OpenAI processing may take place in the United States. The location of online processing does not change the local controls described in this policy.

Retention and deletion

Local profile, preference and context records remain until you edit or remove them. Cached charts are replaced when the birth details change, and stored forecasts remain tied to their original dates and time zones. A saved forecast is never presented as a newly calculated forecast for a different day.

To reset Vayda, open Profile → Device data → Delete data from this device and confirm. This removes the saved profile, charts, forecasts, goals, context, practice history, saved readings and progress, trial dates and reminder preferences, cancels scheduled reminders and turns off AI sharing. Once deletion finishes, the app returns to onboarding. Deletion on one device does not affect another device or an operating-system backup. Uninstalling an app is not a reliable substitute for using its data-deletion controls.

The calculation service does not save the content of birth-profile or chat requests. Request counters are held in memory and discarded as old entries are cleared during later requests or when the service restarts. Private-access usage timestamps are pruned during later successful usage checks once they fall outside the 30-day usage window; access records remain until administratively removed. Hosting security records, support correspondence and AI-provider records have their own retention needs. Support correspondence is kept only for as long as needed to handle the request and meet applicable legal or security obligations.

Local deletion does not remove previously submitted AI-provider requests, delete support emails or cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Contact support for help with information held outside your device.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can edit your birth details, goals and context; remove individual context entries; disable chat memory or AI sharing; manage reminders; clear the current chat; or reset all local app data. You can use the non-AI parts of Vayda without sending a chat question.

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. Email support@vayda.app with your request. We will explain what information we hold, ask only for verification needed to handle the request, and respond within any applicable legal deadline. We cannot remotely retrieve records that exist only on your device.

For a privacy complaint, describe the concern and the outcome you are seeking. We will investigate and respond. You can also contact the privacy regulator in your jurisdiction; contacting us does not limit that right.

Children and policy changes

Vayda is intended for adults and is not designed for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the service, contact support so we can investigate.

We update this policy when our practices change and display the date of the revision. Material new uses or sharing will be explained before they begin, with permission requested where required.
